Twelfth Night

By William Shakespeare

About

Set sail on a whimsical voyage with our Sea-faring musical adaptation of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night! Join shipwrecked Viola, who disguises herself as the charming Cesario, as she navigates mistaken identities. All this because she is on the search for her spirited twin brother, Sebastian, who is also on the island and looking for Olivia. Encounter the lovestruck Duke Orsino, yearning for the beautiful Olivia, who is guarded by the witty and sharp-tongued steward, Malvolio. A cast of sailors and quirky islanders, including the mischievous Sir Toby Belch, the witty Maria, and the clownish antics of Feste. The show will be full of spirited sea shanties and heart aching dirges that express the uncharted waters of love and identity. Experience the hilarity of tangled affections and the spirit of adventure. Set your sails for an unforgettable night of laughter and music!

This is an excellent opportunity to learn how to perform the poetry of Shakespeare. Students will get the opportunity to play larger than life characters and take part in finding how to make Shakespeare relevant and fun for audiences. No Shakespeare or acting experience necessary.

CASTING

Thank you everyone for coming out. It was incredible to watch your auditions. I was floored by the turn out of phenomenal actors (all of you) and it made it incredibly hard to make my decisions. I am thrilled to have this group involved in this production on all levels. As many of you know I fully believe there is no small role in a production but a band of actors working to tell an incredible story together. I believe this group as an ensemble will blow audiences out of the water.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about my decisions. I like to be transparent and open about why I make my choices. Sometimes it's based on a lot of factors that are out of my control.

If you are listed as a Feste Player it means you are a part of Feste's Band of fools and we will be working as a comical ensemble of singers. This is an exciting choice that I think will pay off really well!

I am looking forward to starting rehearsal next week! - Jamie
